• How do I get to Capitol View Winery?

  We are located about 15-20 minutes South of Lincoln, about 30 minutes North of Beatrice and about 1 hour South West of Omaha!  We are on the corner of 25th and Wittstruck.  

• What kind of grapes does CVW grow?

  Capitol View Winery & Vineyards grow Frontenac, LaCrosse and Ed’s Hybrids grapes on site. Ed Swanson, the Winemaker, was the first winemaker in Nebraska and has over 30 years of grape growing and winemaking experience. Ed is well-known in the winemaking industry and is a huge asset to the wine industry as a whole, especially to the Nebraska winemaking industry and to Capitol View Winery & Vineyards.Ed Swanson. These cold climate Nebraska grapes incorporated in our winery round out our full range of impeccable wines. All of our wines are made and bottled right here on site. We offer a variety of wines for all palates, ranging from dry reds to sweet whites and blushes. Capitol View boasts one of the most experienced winemakers in the state.
  We are also excited that we were chosen as a site for the University of Nebraska’s Vinifera research project.  They have installed a high tunnel system on our property to test 5 different Vinifera varieties over the next three years. 

• Does CVW give tours of the production area?

• Can I get married at CVW?

  Capitol View Winery takes a limited number of small weddings each year.  Email Trish at trish@capitolviewwinery.com for more information.

• Can I have a corporate/business meeting at CVW?

  Yes, We love hosting corporate/business meetings at CVW.  Events can be held indoors or outdoors on days/hours that Capitol View is not open to the public.  Email Trish at trish@capitolviewwinery.com for more information. 

• Can I host a Shower or Birthday Party at CVW?

  Yes,  Events can be held indoors or outdoors on days/hours that Capitol View is not open to the public.  Email Trish at trish@capitolviewwinery.com for more information. 

• Is smoking allowed inside or outside at CVW?

  No smoking is allowed inside or outside the winery at Capitol View Winery.  

• Can I bring my Pet to CVW?

  You are more than welcome to bring your pet along, as long as it is on a leash and you pick up after it.  Please respect, however, that no pets are allowed inside the winery.  If your pet is causing a disturbance for other customers, you will be asked to leave.   

• Does CVW provide case discounts?

  Yes, the following are our case discounts.  Half Case get 10%, One Case get 15%, Two Cases get 20%.   Wines can be mixed within the case.  

• Can I find Capitol View Wine at my local retail location/grocery store?

  The best selection of Capitol View Wines are at the winery, however you are able to find a few of the  wines at HyVee at Williamsburg.  You can also find a small selection at Rock ‘n’ Joe Coffee in Lincoln and at Tall Tree Tastings in Beatrice.    

• Can I bring my own food to CVW?

  Capitol View Winery offers various food options for you to enjoy with our wine, such as a variety of Jisa Cheese, Fareway Summer Sausage, an assortment of crackers, Lulubee Artisanal Chocolates and Mixed Nuts.  As a result, we do not allow outside food or drink to be brought or consumed on property.  

• Does CVW have a wine club?

• Are reservations needed for wine tastings? What is included?
  Reservations are not needed for wine tastings.  We have two tasting options.  3-1 oz pours for $5 or 5-1oz pours for $8.  

• Do you have gift certificates?

  Yes, We do have gift certificates available.  You can purchase them at any denomination at the tasting room or by calling the winery at 402-328-3494.

• Do you have outside seating?

  Yes, we have a three seasons room, a covered patio with seating and lots of area to spread out with lawn chairs.  Relax in this space with a glass of wine.  Enjoy the wide open spaces, wildlife, and on a blue sky day, you can see the Capitol!  We hope you enjoy this space as much as we do.
