Sip by Sip: A Journey Through Seasons

Welcome to a narrative exploration where each glass of wine tells a story. Discover the moments that connect us, one sip at a time.

Those Who Return

The tasting room recognizes certain footsteps.

Not because they are louder, but because they arrive without hesitation. Coats are placed where they have always been placed. Glasses are reached for without asking. The room makes space before it needs to.

Capitol Reserve is already open.

It holds the center the way winter prefers, steady and patient. The Keeper pours without explanation. The wine meets the glass like it knows where it belongs.

Then another bottle appears.

Committee’s Choice does not announce itself.

It is set among the group quietly, almost casually, as if its presence has already been agreed upon. Someone notices and smiles. Someone else nods. No one asks questions. The glass is filled the way you fill something you helped create.

The shift is subtle but unmistakable.

The first sip is taken standing up. A pause follows. Then a chair is pulled out.

This is not a room that rushes winter. It knows better.

Other bottles rest nearby, untouched, listening. Their time will come. For now, the tasting room belongs to the one that understands weight. The one that stays when conversation thins. The one that does not need explaining.

Outside, darkness arrives early. Inside, the night begins to gather itself.

Winter does not announce its arrival here.

It settles.

And Capitol Reserve has already taken its place.

The Quiet Agreement

“The Keeper sets out the glasses before the door opens.

There is a rhythm to these nights now…. The room knows what kind of evening it is meant to be.”
