Sip by Sip: A Journey Through Seasons

Welcome to a narrative exploration where each glass of wine tells a story. Discover the moments that connect us, one sip at a time.

The Tasting Room

The Tasting Room

The tasting room warms before the cold fully arrives.

Lights come on one by one, steady and familiar. Chairs are straightened without thought. The floor still carries the quiet of the afternoon, the kind that settles after the last footsteps fade. Outside, the vineyard holds its lines, patient beneath a sky that gives nothing away.

Someone is already here.

The Keeper moves through the room the way memory moves through a body, without effort, without announcement. Glasses are placed where they always are. A bottle is set on the counter, not centered, not hidden. Waiting.

Capitol Reserve is opened first.

Not because it must be, but because winter recognizes it. The pour is slow enough to be heard. The sound lands softly in the room, as if it belongs there. The wine does not brighten the space. It steadies it. The tasting room exhales.

The first sip is taken standing up. A pause follows. Then a chair is pulled out.

This is not a room that rushes winter. It knows better.

Other bottles rest nearby, untouched, listening. Their time will come. For now, the tasting room belongs to the one that understands weight. The one that stays when conversation thins. The one that does not need explaining.

Outside, darkness arrives early. Inside, the night begins to gather itself.

Winter does not announce its arrival here.

It settles.

And Capitol Reserve has already taken its place.
