Capitol View Winery & Vineyards grows Frontenac and LaCrosse grapes on site with other cold climate Nebraska grapes incorporated in our winery to round out our full range of impeccable wines. All of our wines are made and bottled right here on site with our Nebraska grown grapes. We offer a variety of wines for all palates, ranging from dry reds to sweet whites and blushes.

Capitol View boasts one of the most experienced winemakers in the state. Ed Swanson, the Winemaker, was the first winemaker in Nebraska and has over 30 years of grape growing and winemaking experience. Ed is well-known in the winemaking industry and is a huge asset to the wine industry as a whole, especially to the Nebraska winemaking industry and to Capitol View Winery & Vineyards.

Dry White
Medium bodied, well balanced dry white. Pear & white peach on the nose. Complex palette with a pinch of tannins and a long finish.

Dry White

Medium-bodied dry white with rich & intense flavors of gooseberry, green melon, violet & a hint of grapefruit in the finish. So Refreshing! Row 16 is produced with Itasca grapes grown by Old Cellar Vineyard.  The mystical, intriguing Row 16 in our vineyard inspired the name.  You will want to hear the story!!

Sweet White

Intriguing blend of La Crescent & LaCrosse delights the nose with aromas of key lime mingled with a touch of whipped cream. The palate enters with vibrant citrus and hints of nectarine.

Blush

Delightful blush with aromas of red stone fruits. A hint of orange peel on the palate. Lively grapefruit finish. Bright & a little sassy!

Dry White

Aromas are inviting with notes of creaminess, lemon, pear, kiwi and vanilla. Fermented and aged in American Oak barrels, Estate Consensus is structured and voluptuous. Creamy palate of ripe pear with a touch of oak.  Silky rich vanilla lingers through the long finish.

Semi-Sweet White

Unique and complex flavors of peach skin, under ripe apricot & green plum. A brilliant balance of fruit and acidity. The nose is a fruit all to its own, with aromas of stone fruit and hints of enticing citrus & tropical fruit.

Sweet White

Aromas of apricot, tangerines and melded hints of citrus entice you to experience this “Ice Style” wine. Much of the beautiful floral apricot carries over to the long, sweet lingering finish with crisp acidity ending in a flourish of orange.

Dry White

Full bodied dry white with an enticing floral and lime zest nose and palette.

Semi-Sweet White

On the palate City Lights simmers with flavors of apricot and fresh pineapple. Bright, refreshing finish. & tropical fruit.

Flavors of red clover, muscat & guava combine for a pleasing palate in our sweetest white wine. Similar to a Moscato.

This off-dry red blend opens with an ample bouquet that highlights aromas of wild blueberries, intertwined with cherry crème soda. The texture is plush & silky. Polished tannins lead to a delicious finish. This exceptionally food-friendly wine will pair delightfully with a variety of dishes. For a memorable cheese course pair with Manchego.

A deep garnet color that leads to enticing aromas of plum, allspice, deep dark cherry with a bit of licorice and black currant. Aging in an American Oak barrel contributes to the aromas of vanilla. The palate is plush, filing the mouth with thick tannins layered with flavors of light caramel, rich dark fruit, black currant, cherry and plum in the delicious finish. .
