Harvest

Harvest at Capitol View Winery is such a special time.  All of the long days during the spring and summer finally payoff with a beautiful crop!  Capitol View Winery has 2.5 acres of vines on property that consist of Frontenac and LaCrosse.  We are excited to also have a few rows of Ed Swanson’s Hybrid grapes.  You will see a machine harvester in the photos below. The first year that we owned the winery, we used this machine.  Since then, we have hand picked all of our grapes.  We typically harvest in August and love having volunteers to help!  It is such a fun and rewarding experience!  If you want to be on the volunteer list, just let us know!
